Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at pathways@momentumsupport.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to eligible people with disability to access supports that help them build skills, increase independence, and participate in everyday life.NDIS funding is based on your individual goals and needs — not a one‑size‑fits‑all system.

NDIS funding may be used for supports that are:

  • Related to your disability
  • Reasonable and necessary
  • Linked to your NDIS goals
  • Likely to improve independence, participation, or wellbeing

Examples include:

  • Capacity Building supports (e.g. therapy, coaching)
  • Core Supports (e.g. assistance with daily activities)
  • Early intervention supports for children

  1.  Check your eligibility on the NDIS website
  2. Submit an access request
  3. Attend a planning meeting
  4. Receive your NDIS plan
  5. Choose providers that align with your goals

It’s common to feel overwhelmed. We can support you to:

  • Understand your plan
  • Clarify what your funding can be used for
  • Start services confidently

Your goals guide how your funding is used. Goals may focus on:

  • Independence
  • Daily living skills
  • Wellbeing and mental health
  • Social participation
  • Building routines and confidence

Capacity Building supports focus on skill development — not doing things for you, but helping you build independence over time.
Examples include:

  • Wellbeing and motivation coaching
  • Therapy supports
  • Skill‑building and routine development

  • Choose providers who listen and work with your goals
  • Review your goals regularly
  • Ask questions if something isn’t clear
  • Focus on building skills, not dependency

  • Self‑Managed: You choose providers and manage invoices
  • Plan‑Managed: A plan manager handles payments for you
  • NDIA‑Managed: NDIA handles all payments and the administration of the plan

We support self‑managed and eligible plan‑managed participants.

Not always. Unregistered providers can support self‑managed and some plan‑managed participants.

Yes. Supports may be delivered in your home, community, or other agreed settings, depending on your goals and funding.

Absolutely. As your needs and goals change, your supports can be adjusted during plan reviews.

That’s okay. Many people start without clarity. We work with you to identify practical, meaningful supports aligned with your goals.
